Job summary

China Communications Construction Company (M) Sdn Bhd (Project Site Operations) is seeking a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with 1–2 years of earthworks experience. You will oversee earthworks, roadbed preparation, and subgrade activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project designs and safety standards.

The role requires knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical testing, with strong teamwork and the ability to communicate technical instructions clearly on site.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related certificate.
1–2 years of experience in earthworks, roadbeds, highways, or railway subgrade works.
Knowledge of soil mechanics, geotechnical testing protocols, and standard earthwork machinery operations.
Physically fit for site environments and able to work under tight schedules.
Strong teamwork and ability to communicate technical instructions on site.

Responsibilities

Oversee structural earthworks, ground improvement, slope stabilization, and subgrade/roadbed preparation for rail track foundation.
Supervise site excavation, backfilling, compaction testing, and soil stabilization per designs.
Monitor settlement levels and coordinate with surveying and lab teams for soil compaction and material compliance.
Resolve on-site technical difficulties related to drainage, soil conditions, and foundation stability.
Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and ensure work meets quality and safety standards of the project.
