Job summary

San Yi Greentech (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a General Manager to lead day-to-day operations in Malaysia for a technology-driven nanotechnology company specializing in Nano Carbon-Silicon Fertiliser Manufacturing, Clean Energy and Hydrogen Storage Solutions, and Nanomaterials.

The role requires strong regulatory, cross‑functional leadership, and hands-on supervision with the ability to coordinate with international teams and local authorities.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience in manufacturing or regulated industries.
• Experience with government licences, permits and regulatory processes is preferred.
• Strong English and Mandarin communication skills; Bahasa Malaysia is advantageous.

Job description

The General Manager will work closely with the management team and will be responsible for the overall coordination and day-to-day management of the company's operations in Malaysia. This is a hands-on role in a technology-driven company focused on the development and commercialisation of advanced nanotechnology solutions, including Nano Carbon-Silicon Fertiliser Manufacturing, Clean Energy and Hydrogen Storage Solutions, and Nanomaterials for High-Tech Industrial Applications.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the overall day-to-day operations and administration of the company
• Handle and follow up on company licences, permits, applications, renewals and regulatory requirements
• Liaise with relevant government departments, local authorities, agencies, consultants and other external parties
• Personally follow up on applications and documentation when required, including attending government offices and meetings
• Monitor regulatory and compliance matters and ensure required documentation is properly maintained and followed up
• Coordinate between management and the company's international team, including employees and business associates from the United States and China
• Communicate effectively with English- and Mandarin-speaking employees, technical personnel and external parties
• Oversee administrative staff and ensure that management instructions are properly implemented and followed through
• Coordinate operational matters involving suppliers, contractors, logistics and warehouse activities
• Visit the warehouse and other operational or project locations when required

About you

• Strong management and operational experience, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, technology, agriculture, engineering, energy or other regulated industries
• Experience dealing with government departments, licences, permits, regulatory applications or compliance matters is highly preferred
• Strong command of English and Mandarin, both spoken and written
• Bahasa Malaysia proficiency is highly advantageous, particularly for communication with local authorities and government agencies
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of assigned responsibilities
• Hands‑on, resourceful and willing to personally follow up on operational and regulatory matters
• Comfortable working in a growing company where responsibilities may extend across different areas of the business
• Willing to travel locally to warehouses, government offices, project sites and other locations when required
• Possession of a valid driving licence and own transportation is preferred
