Job summary

OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad seeks a Data Scientist to apply data science, ML and AI to solve business problems and deliver measurable value across the bank. The role involves designing and deploying AI-driven solutions including GenAI copilots and RAG-based apps, building predictive models, and translating insights into business recommendations.

You will work with cross-functional teams to create scalable AI solutions that deliver tangible impact, leveraging large-scale data and modern ML tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data science or generative AI solutions development.
• Proficient in Python and ML libraries; familiarity with SQL.
• Experience with deep learning, NLP, or reinforcement learning; exposure to Hadoop or Spark.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Curious, collaborative and outcome-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI-driven solutions, including GenAI copilots, recommendation engines and RAG-based applications.
• Build, validate and scale predictive and generative models to address business opportunities and operational challenges.
• Explore and apply agentic AI concepts to automate workflows, support decision-making and enhance customer engagement.
• Analyse large-scale structured and unstructured data across multiple business domains to uncover actionable insights.
• Develop clear data narratives and visualisations that translate complex analytical findings into business recommendations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to co-create scalable AI and analytics solutions that deliver measurable business impact.

Skills
