Job summary

ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors is seeking an experienced engineer to support testing tool qualification and continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting.

The role emphasizes collaboration with R&D, sustaining engineering, and equipment maintenance to ensure high yield and efficiency in test operations. English and Bahasa Malaysia fluency are required, with a minimum of 10 years in front-end testing and 5 years in test/inspection engineering.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, front end testing area.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in test and inspection engineering.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• R&D Collaboration & Tool Qualification. Partner with R&D teams to support probing and testing tool qualification.
• Sustaining & Process Improvement. Work with sustaining engineering to improve yield, quality, and test efficiency.
• Risk Management & Process Control. Conduct risk assessments and implement OCAP and detailed work instructions.
• Equipment Uptime & Performance. Ensure testing tools meet IE uptime targets and coordinate maintenance.

Job description

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

• R&D Collaboration & Tool Qualification. Partner with R&D teams to support probing and testing tool qualification. Evaluate new test methods, tools, and technologies to ensure readiness for production. Provide technical feedback to improve test coverage, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Sustaining & Process Improvement. Work closely with sustaining engineering teams on maintenance strategies and process-related issues. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, quality, and test efficiency. Troubleshoot test-related issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Risk Management & Process Control. Conduct risk assessments for test processes and equipment. Develop and maintain Control Plans to ensure process stability. Create and implement OCAP (Out of Control Action Plans). Prepare and maintain detailed Work Instructions for test operations.
• Equipment Uptime & Performance. Ensure testing tools meet or exceed Industrial Engineering (IE) uptime targets. Monitor equipment performance and drive actions to minimize downtime. Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
