Job summary

CFB Bots Pte Ltd is seeking a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineer in Malaysia to partner with enterprise customers across industries. You will design, build and deploy AI agents that integrate with customers’ systems, data and workflows, driving production-ready solutions and continuous improvement.

You will own delivery from discovery to deployment, develop reusable components, and work with customers to measure outcomes while navigating security, data protection and regulatory requirements.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on, customer-focused Forward Deployed Engineer to join our growing AI solutions team. Based in Malaysia, you will work directly with enterprise customers across various industries in the region to understand their business challenges and translate requirements into practical, production-ready AI solutions.

Your primary focus will be designing, building and deploying AI agents that integrate with customers' existing systems, data and workflows. Working closely with customers and internal teams, you will take ownership of technical delivery from initial discovery and prototyping through to production deployment and continuous improvement. You will also help develop reusable components and frameworks that accelerate future delivery.

What You'll Do

• Discover and scope: Work directly with customers to understand business challenges, lead discovery discussions, and translate ambiguous requirements into clear use cases, solution architectures and delivery plans
• Design and build: Rapidly prototype, design and develop AI agents and LLM-powered applications that integrate with enterprise systems, data and business workflows
• Integrate and deploy: Connect solutions to enterprise applications, APIs and databases, deploy them into customer environments, and optimise for reliability, scalability and performance
• Own delivery quality: Build production-ready solutions with appropriate testing, AI evaluation, monitoring, error handling, safeguards and human oversight, while addressing customer security, data protection and regulatory requirements
• Troubleshoot and optimise: Diagnose and resolve issues across application code, integrations, infrastructure and AI model behaviour, continuously improving solutions based on real-world usage and feedback
• Deliver business impact: Work with customers to measure outcomes, identify improvement opportunities, and communicate technical trade-offs, costs and business value to stakeholders
• Enable and scale: Train customer teams, produce clear technical documentation, and contribute reusable components, tools and frameworks that accelerate future delivery

What You'll Bring

Must-haves

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, preferably delivering solutions for enterprise customers, with demonstrated experience taking applications from development into production
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in backend application development, REST APIs, SQL databases and integration with enterprise systems
• Practical experience building LLM-powered applications or AI agents, including RAG, tool calling, agent orchestration and integration with external tools or enterprise data
• Experience evaluating and troubleshooting AI applications, including response quality, reliability, latency, cost and failure handling
• Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining applications on at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud)
• Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), software testing, logging and production troubleshooting
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data, including data ingestion, transformation and integration workflows
• Understanding of enterprise application security fundamentals, including authentication, authorisation, access controls, secrets management and secure data handling
• Ability to independently conduct customer discovery discussions, analyse existing business processes, and translate ambiguous requirements into solution designs and working applications
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong sense of ownership, adaptability and resourcefulness, with the ability to deliver independently in complex, fast-moving customer environments
• Willingness to work directly at customer locations and travel regionally when required

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks, Model Context Protocol (MCP), vector databases and advanced LLM evaluation or observability tools
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent), cloud networking and identity management
• Experience deploying applications into hybrid, on-premises or restricted enterprise environments
• Experience with data engineering tools, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses or enterprise data platforms
• Familiarity with enterprise automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, UiPath or n8n
• Experience delivering AI solutions in regulated industries, including understanding of AI governance, security and data protection requirements
• Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer or Technical Consultant
