Job summary

The role requires basic education (SPM or equivalent), willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a hospital environment. On-site duties involve kitchen cleanliness, stock rotation, and coordination with the catering team.

Qualifications

• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Experience in the food industry is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with hospital dietary services is a plus.
• Knowledge of customer service principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items by ensuring quality and quantity.

• Deliver meals to rooms or persons; collect trays on time.

• Wash dishes and operate dishwashers.
• Assist with food prep for catering projects.
• Any other duties as instructed by the organization.
• Inspect food items and equipment regularly.
• Report malfunctions to supervisor immediately.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Prepare food items by ensuring both quality and quantity

• Ensure that food items are appropriately arranged on plates and platters

• Prepare and assemble portions in accordance with the menu

• Store food in an appropriate manner

• Ensure that food items are properly rotated in storage

• Dispose of expired products and record accordingly

• Arrange plates and food items neatly on trays

• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen by following cleaning and sanitation guidelines

• Manage transportation of food and supplies. Ensure temperatures are within specified range as according to statutory requirements and recommended approved guidance

• Deliver food to the appropriate room or person; collect and discard the meal tray within the stipulated time

• Managing food inventory and supplies are according to par level

• Wash dishes and flatware

• Operate and maintain dishwashers

• Perform light bookkeeping duties

• Report kitchen malfunctions to superior immediately

• Inspect food items and equipment on a constant basis

• Assist with food preparation services for catering projects

• Any other duties as per instructed by the organization

JOB REQUIREMENT

Education:

• SPM or equivalent

Knowledge and Experiences:

• No experience required as on-the-job training shall be provided. However, experience in food related

• Familiarity with any food industry

• Experience in Hospital Dietary Services will be an extra advantage

• Knowledge of customer service related
