Job summary

MAXIS Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Financial Planning Analyst (Network) to partner with the Network function, guiding budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning. You will drive Opex and Capex budgeting, provide accurate month-end closing, and deliver actionable financial insights to support strategic decisions.

You will excel in a fast-paced telco environment, collaborating with engineering and commercial teams to optimise costs and improve performance while ensuring governance and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Finance Business Partnering, or Management Accounting.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, month-end closing, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Experience in Opex and Capex planning, monitoring, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
• Experience in telecommunications, network, engineering, or infrastructure-related industries is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Business Partnering for Network: act as finance partner providing actual reporting and analysis for LE, AOP, and LRP.
• Opex & Capex Management: monitor and submit network division Opex/Capex planning.
• Financial Month-End Closing: manage accruals, depreciation forecasting, and Capex & OPEX outlook.
• Cost Optimisation & Efficiency: identify and implement savings opportunities.
• Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis: deliver insights for decision-making and special projects.

Why does this job exist and why is it critical? The Financial Planning Analyst (Network) needs to provide essential financial support to the Network function. This role is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations, accurate reporting, and coordination of capital expenditure & cost planning. You will act as a point of contact for the Network team, ensuring that financial processes are followed and that management has the data required for effective decision-making.

What You Will Do:

• Business Partnering for Network Serve as the dedicated finance partner for the Network function, providing insightful actual reporting, financial guidance, and analysis to support Latest Estimates (LE), Annual Operating Plans (AOP), and Long-Range Planning (LRP). Provide financial guidance on budgeting, Limit of Authorization (LOA), and related matters.
• Opex & Capex Management Take ownership of the Network division’s financial health by monitoring Operating Expenditure (Opex) and Capital Expenditure (Capex) planning and submissions.
• Financial Month-End Closing Month-end closing activities including accruals, depreciation forecasting, and Capex & OPEX outlook preparation.
• Cost Optimisation & Efficiency Partner with Network teams to identify and implement Opex and Capex saving opportunities
• Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis Deliver timely and accurate financial insights to support decision-making and special projects.

What You Need To Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Finance Business Partnering, or Management Accounting
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, month-end closing, accruals, and financial reporting
• Experience in Opex and Capex planning, monitoring, and variance analysis
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into business insights
• Experience in telecommunications, network, engineering, or infrastructure-related industries is an advantage
