Our client "Wellous Group" is seeking a Group Financial Controller to join their team!
This opportunity offers the chance to lead the finance function of a privately owned consumer products group. The role combines strategic commercial partnership with hands‑on leadership across group reporting, treasury, tax, consolidation and finance transformation.
What you'll be doing?
- Lead the finance team: Manage day-to-day operations, set accountabilities, build capability and support succession planning across a team of around 12.
- Drive group reporting: Deliver monthly close, consolidation and accurate management reporting across all entities.
- Partner with the business: Work with Sales, Marketing, Product and Supply Chain on pricing, launches, promotions, market entry and capital allocation.
- Oversee statutory reporting: Manage MFRS and Companies Act 2016 reporting, revenue recognition and external audit through to clean, timely completion.
- Manage treasury activities: Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital, banking relationships, facilities, covenants and foreign exchange exposure.
- Lead planning and analysis: Deliver budgets, rolling forecasts, long‑range plans and unit economics across products and channels.
- Advance finance technology: Maximise SAP S/4HANA adoption and lead automation of reconciliations, close and reporting.
- Ensure tax compliance: Manage corporate tax, SST, withholding tax, transfer pricing documentation and e‑Invoicing requirements.
- Support overseas expansion: Lead finance and tax matters including entity structuring, tax registration, permanent establishment, treaty positions and local reporting.
- Strengthen governance: Maintain internal controls, risk frameworks, financial policies, delegation of authority and segregation of duties.
Who are they looking for?
- Relevant qualifications: A degree in Accounting or Finance, together with ACCA, CIMA, CPA or an equivalent professional qualification. MIA membership is an advantage.
- Senior finance experience: At least 10 years of finance experience, including 1 years as a Financial Controller or Head of Finance.
- B2C sector experience: Experience in a fast-moving, high-volume B2C environment such as FMCG, retail, e‑commerce or a similar industry.
- Leadership capability: Proven ability to lead a finance team while operating effectively at both strategic and hands‑on operational levels.
- Commercial insight: Strong analytical and commercial capability, with the ability to translate financial information into decisions for senior management.
- Owner‑managed adaptability: A pragmatic and agile approach, with comfort working in a fast‑moving environment with lean structures and ambiguity.
- Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of group consolidation, MFRS, taxation and audit management.
- Systems proficiency: Experience with SAP, Oracle, Dynamics or a similar ERP, with a track record of driving user adoption and automation. Strong Excel and BI skills are also required.
- Language capability: Fluent spoken and written English is required for reporting and stakeholder collaboration, as well as fluent in Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.
