Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a rapidly expanding publicly listed organisation in Malaysia to recruit a Financial Controller. You will lead tax compliance, tax planning, and tax strategy initiatives while steering group reporting and consolidation across all entities.

You will develop and implement financial strategies to support short- and long-term objectives, oversee budgeting and forecasting, monitor cash flow and internal controls, and mentor a high-performing finance team while

Job Description

• Lead tax compliance, tax planning, and tax strategy initiatives, ensuring adherence to statutory obligations while optimising the organisation's overall tax position and managing tax-related risks.
• Lead the group reporting and consolidation process, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting across all business units and legal entities within the group.
• Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's short- and long-term business objectives, driving sustainable growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  
• Oversee the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring accurate financial projections and effective resource allocation across the organisation.
  
• Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and statutory requirements, maintaining robust internal controls and governance frameworks.
  
• Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities to optimise liquidity, support business operations, and strengthen overall financial performance.
  
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team by creating a high-performance culture, enhancing technical capabilities, and supporting ongoing professional development.
  
• Collaborate closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to align financial goals with business activities, enabling informed decision-making and improved performance outcomes.
  

The Successful Applicant

A suitable Financial Controller will have:

• A Professional Accounting Qualification.
• Experience leading & developing teams.
• Experience with Tax Planning / Tax Strategy.
• Experience with Group Consolidation / Group Accounting.
