Job summary

O-I BJC in Malaysia is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the financial accounting, reporting, and consolidation functions. You will oversee budgeting, cost analysis, and management reporting to senior management and the Board in a manufacturing setting.

You will manage treasury, cash flow, banking facilities, tax planning and compliance, while developing the Finance team and collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to deliver accurate financial information for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional qualification such as ACCA/CPA is an added advantage.
• 8–10 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong financial analysis and costing skills with understanding of financial reporting, budgeting and cost control.
• Experience in treasury, cash flow management, financial controls, taxation and statutory requirements.
• Experience in Supply Chain and cross-functional collaboration with Production and operational processes.
• Experience in leading, supervising and developing a Finance team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Company’s financial accounting, reporting, statutory compliance and consolidation activities.
• Review financial performance, forecasts, budgets, cost analysis and management reports for senior management and the Board.
• Manage treasury, cash flow, banking facilities, credit arrangements, investments and hedging.
• Monitor financial position including cash flow, balance sheet, working capital and commitments.
• Drive cost control and improvements in AP/AR, inventory and CAPEX management.
• Lead, supervise and develop the Finance team; drive performance and succession planning.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure timely, accurate financial information and reporting.
• Provide financial advice to General Manager on treasury, tax planning and business strategies; prepare monthly updates for Headquarters.
• Ensure compliance with policies, controls and regulations; liaise with auditors and bankers as required.

Job description

Lead and oversee the Company’s financial accounting, reporting, statutory compliance and consolidation activities in accordance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.

Review financial performance, forecasts, budgets, cost analysis and management reports, and provide insights and recommendations to senior management and the Board.

Manage the Company’s treasury, cash flow, banking facilities, credit arrangements, investments, hedging and other banking matters.

Monitor and manage the Company’s financial position, including cash flow, balance sheet, working capital and financial commitments.

Drive cost control, cost reduction initiatives and improvements in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), inventory and CAPEX management.

Lead, supervise and develop the Finance team, including performance management, training, work rotation and succession planning.

Collaborate with relevant departments and Finance personnel to ensure accurate, timely and reliable financial information and reporting.

Provide financial advice and recommendations to the General Manager on financial matters, treasury, tax planning and business strategies, including preparation of monthly business updates and reports for Headquarters.

Ensure compliance with Company policies, financial controls, reporting requirements and applicable regulations, and liaise with auditors, bankers and other external parties when required.

Work closely with the General Manager to drive financial performance and achieve the Company’s business goals and targets.

Support Company Secretarial activities, including preparation and coordination of Board papers and materials for Board meetings.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or equivalent is an added advantage.

8-10 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong financial analysis and costing skills, with good understanding of financial reporting, budgeting and cost control.

Strong knowledge of treasury, cash flow management, financial controls, taxation and statutory requirements.

Experience in Supply Chain and cross-functional collaboration, with a good understanding of Production and operational processes.

Experience in leading, supervising and developing a Finance team.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Good communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Proactive, results-oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
