MBT Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Finance Lead to independently manage the company’s overall financial operations. You will liaise with APAC headquarters, oversee closing, budgeting, audits, and internal controls to drive profitability and compliance.
The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in English (Mandarin a plus). You will partner with cross-functional teams to support business growth and efficiency.
Independently manage overall financial operations of Malaysia company, serving as key financial liaison between Malaysia and APAC headquarters.
Key responsibilities
Manage monthly closing, assist with annual audits, and ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and local tax regulations
Establish and improve the internal control system to manage financial risks in contracts, payments, expenses, and daily operations
Coordinate with external auditors, handle tax filings, and manage government inspections and related matters
Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, develop financial models, and track the achievement of key business performance indicators
Conduct variance analysis, identify business risks and opportunities, and propose improvement recommendations
Manage cash flow forecasting and monitoring, accounts receivable and customer credit, and drive optimization of the collection cycle
Support the Country Manager and business teams in conducting business analysis covering revenue, gross margin, expenses, profit, and project profitability
Provide financial insights and data support to business decision-making, including pricing analysis, return on investment evaluation, and cost optimization proposals
Collaborate with sales, supply chain, human resources, and other teams to support business growth and operational efficiency improvements
Produce management reports and business analysis reports, reporting financial and operational status of Malaysia to APAC headquarters
About you
Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant financial work experience
Experience independently managing company or business unit finances is preferred
Familiar with local Malaysian accounting, tax, and financial compliance requirements
Strong capabilities in financial analysis, budget management, accounting, cash flow management, and internal controls
Strong business acumen and Business Partner mindset, capable of working independently and solving problems
Proficient in English as a working language
Proficiency in Chinese is a plus
