Job summary

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within an international manufacturing company.
• Strong background in cost accounting; proficient in MPERs, ERP systems, and Malaysian tax laws; English fluency required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting function to ensure timely financial reporting in line with MPERs and local regulations.
• Manage cash and banking relationships, monitor working capital, and ensure liquidity.
• Implement and manage an efficient cost accounting system and train staff.
• Produce monthly financial reports with actionable insights for management and external authorities.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting with comprehensive commentary to board.
• Supervise all sub-ledgers (payables, receivables, salaries, stock, fixed assets) and reconcile ledgers.
• Act as ERP system manager for accounting and cost-related processes, liaising with external consultants.
• Provide regular feedback on cost management and maintain control over expenses.
• Oversee cash flow forecasts and negotiate with banks; assess customer/supplier credit health.
• Ensure adequate insurance coverage for high-value risks and manage tax declarations and payments.
• Ensure compliance with local company secretarial duties.
