Job summary

Flex is seeking a Financial Analyst in Prai, Penang to support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for our regional and global operations. You will prepare consolidated statements, input journal entries, analyze actuals vs forecasts, and develop commentary to explain deviations, while coordinating with tax, treasury and business units.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements.

• Develop commentary on forecast changes and deviations from targets.
• Assist in quarterly reviews and year-end audit activities.
• Advise on corporate accounting policies, U.S. GAAP and BS recons.
• Liaise between tax, treasury and other finance teams and regional/local finance managers.
• Generate financial reports for review by business teams.
• Conduct cost investigations and propose profitability improvements.

In charge of preparing and researching financial reports to hold up of business needs in order to ensure charges and headcount are passed to the correct business units and to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

What a typical day looks like:

• Assist in the timely preparation and review of consolidated financial statements.
• Input journal entries.
• Aggregate and prepare actual and forecast financial data. Compare the current forecast against the prior forecast.
• Develop detailed commentary to changes in forecasts and to deviations from targeted financial metrics.
• Assist in quarterly reviews and year-end audit activities.
• Advise reporting entities on corporate accounting policies, U.S. GAAP and BS recons.
• Liaise between corporate tax, treasury and other financial departments and regional and local finance managers in developing internal working partnerships.
• Generate financial reports for review by business team.
• Conduct cost investigation as required.
• Makes recommendations to management regarding cost-saving or profit-generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a B. Com / B.C. S / M. Com / MBA /BBA/ BBM, any other commerce and Accounts Stream degrees.
• Typically requires 5-6 years of related experience in the Financial Planning and Analysis role in any MNC.
• Related professional certification preferred - Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), or a America Production Inventory Control Society (APICS).
