Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced financial leader to steer the company’s financial strategy, governance, and performance management. You will guide budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning while partnering with the CEO and Board on strategic initiatives and corporate governance.

The role encompasses leading finance operations, risk management, and internal controls, and collaborating with auditors, regulators, and external stakeholders to drive sustainable growth.

1. Financial Leadership & Corporate Strategy

• Lead the company's overall financial management strategy to support sustainable business growth and long-term objectives.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board of Directors on financial performance, business expansion, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and oversee annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term business plans.
• Monitor financial performance and recommend strategic initiatives to improve profitability and cash flow.

2. Financial Operations & Governance

• Direct and oversee all finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
• Establish and maintain robust financial controls, corporate governance policies, and internal control systems.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including taxation, Companies Act 2016, audit requirements, and other applicable regulations.
• Oversee treasury functions, banking facilities, cash management, and working capital optimization.
• Develop enterprise financial risk management frameworks and mitigation strategies.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the organization complies with all financial and corporate governance requirements.
• Lead internal and external audit processes and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Review and strengthen financial policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Lead, manage, and develop the Finance and Accounting Department to achieve operational excellence.
• Establish departmental objectives, KPIs, and performance management systems.
• Coach and mentor finance professionals to strengthen technical competencies and leadership capabilities.
• Promote continuous process improvement and digital transformation within finance operations.

5. Stakeholder & Corporate Relationship Management

• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax consultants, regulators, government agencies, and other external stakeholders.
• Support the Board of Directors with financial presentations, management reports, and strategic recommendations.
• Participate in corporate planning, business expansion, financing arrangements, and strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve financial performance and operational effectiveness.

6. Business Performance & Strategic Decision Support

• Analyse business performance and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
• Evaluate financial implications of major business initiatives and capital expenditure projects.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships from a financial governance perspective.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen financial management and corporate sustainability.
