Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the entire finance function. You will lead day-to-day accounting activities, ensure timely financial reporting, and coordinate with auditors to finalize annual audits.

The role involves tax planning in liaison with tax agents and supporting management with financial analysis. The ideal candidate has a degree in accounting with professional qualifications and at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in accounting or finance; professional qualification preferred (CPA/ACCA/MIA or equivalent).
• At least 2 years of finance and accounting experience including accounting, audit and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysia tax matters and compliance is advantageous.
• Proven leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee finance and accounting functions including payments as part of day-to-day operations.
• Ensure timely generation of monthly/quarterly/annual accounts and performance reports with analysis.
• Assist in tax matters for subsidiaries and liaison with tax agents with proper planning and filing.
• Coordinate with external auditors to finalize annual audits and prepare statutory accounts for filing.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by management.

Reporting to the Business Director/Group Finance Manager, the Finance Manager is responsible to oversee the overall business finance function.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review of finance and accounting overall functions, including payments as part of Finance day-to-day operations
• Ensure timely & accurate generation of monthly/quarterly/annual accounts, quarterly & yearly Performance Reports, with proper analysis of schedules and analysis with the assistance of subordinates
• Assist in handling tax matters of the subsidiaries and other companies/branches as assigned in close liaison with the tax agents, including having a sound understanding of the tax laws and rulings to enable proper tax planning and mitigation for the companies handled and ensuring timely and accurate filing of annual submission, tax estimation and payments.
• Assist in liaison with external auditors to finalize the annual audit and ensure the statutory accounts are promptly submitted to Company Secretary for filing to SSM.
• Undertake any other jobs and duties may be assigned from time to time from management

Requirements

• Minimum Degree in Accounting. Professional qualification in accounting or finance (CPA, ACCA, MIA or equivalent) is preferable.
• Minimum of 2 years of finance and accounting experience, including finance, accounting, audit, and analysis.
• Familiar with local taxation. Experience in handling tax matters will be an added advantage.
• Strong leadership skill to lead subordinates.
• Well versed in Microsoft Office Applications, especially Ms. Excel.
• Able to work independently and demonstrates strong initiative.
• Proactive working attitude with ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
