Benchmark Electronics is seeking a Finance Intern to join the GBS Finance team in Bayan Lepas, Penang. You will gain hands-on experience in financial accounting and reporting within a manufacturing environment, supporting daily finance tasks under supervision.

The role is ideal for students or recent graduates aiming to start a career in finance and accounting, offering mentorship and exposure to real-world processes.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work.
• Good organisation and time management; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of financial records and ledgers.
• Supporting reconciliation of accounts and identifying discrepancies.
• Processing invoices, expense reports, and payment documentation.
• Assisting with preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Performing data entry and verification with accuracy.
• Assisting with basic financial analysis and variance investigations.
• Providing admin support to the finance team as needed.

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Finance Intern to join Benchmark GBS Finance in Bayan Lepas, Penang. This is a full-time internship opportunity designed to provide you with valuable hands-on experience in financial accounting and reporting within a dynamic manufacturing environment. As a Finance Intern, you will support our finance team in day-to-day operations whilst gaining practical knowledge of financial accounting principles, processes, and best practices. This role is an excellent stepping stone for students or recent graduates looking to establish a career in finance and accounting.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of financial records and ledgers
• Supporting the reconciliation of accounts and identification of discrepancies
• Helping to process invoices, expense reports, and payment documentation
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Performing data entry and verification tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
• Assisting with basic financial analysis and variance investigations
• Supporting the finance team with administrative tasks and general duties as required
