Job summary

COMPOSITES TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH MALAYSIA SDN BHD is seeking a Finance Executive to manage product costing, inventory valuation, and cost accounting processes. A degree in Accounting/Finance is required, along with 2+ years of relevant experience and proficiency in Excel.

Knowledge of ERP systems, especially QAD, is advantageous. The role involves preparing costing analyses, supporting month-end closes and audits, and ensuring accurate inventory records and government submissions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of costing, inventory accounting or finance experience.
• Understanding of product costing, inventory valuation and cost accounting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with ERP or accounting systems. Experience with QAD is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain product costing, including material costs, labour costs, production hours and other related costs.
• Analyse product costs, cost of goods sold (COGS) and cost variances, identifying areas for cost improvement and savings.
• Perform inventory valuation and monitor stock balances to ensure accurate inventory records and financial reporting.
• Analyse inventory reports, including stock ageing, slow-moving and obsolete inventory, and highlight potential inventory risks.
• Coordinate physical stock-taking activities, reconcile stock discrepancies and ensure timely updates to inventory records.
• Support month-end closing and internal and external audits by providing relevant costing, inventory records and financial information.
• Monitor cost-saving initiatives and track savings against established targets.
• Prepare monthly costing and inventory reports, including statutory submissions to relevant government departments and Customs.
