Job summary

Star Media Group Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a Finance Executive to safeguard financial integrity, manage full-spectrum reporting, and partner with business units to drive informed decisions across the Group.

You will lead monthly closing, maintain fixed assets, perform reconciliations, and support tax computations and audits in a fast-paced media environment, with opportunities for professional growth and exposure to MFRS-compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
• At least 2 years of related work experience in maintaining full sets of accounts.
• Strong knowledge of Financial Accounting standards and ability to communicate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of the monthly closing process ensuring revenue and costs are recognized accurately under MFRSs.
• Maintain fixed assets register with timely additions, disposals, depreciation and tagging.
• Perform reconciliations for bank and intercompany accounts to ensure ledgers and reports tally.
• Support tax computations and periodic audits as part of overall operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Take charge of the monthly closing process, ensuring revenue and costs are recognized accurately and in full compliance with MFRSs.
• Keep our fixed assets register sharp by ensuring all additions, disposals, and depreciation are recorded timely and tagged correctly.
• Perform critical reconciliations for bank and intercompany accounts, ensuring our sub-ledgers and reports always tally.
• Conduct analytical reviews and provide support for tax computations and periodic audits to keep operations running smoothly.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. (Professional qualifications like ACCA, MICPA, or CA are a huge plus!).
• Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience, specifically in maintaining full sets of accounts.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of Financial Accounting standards and the ability to communicate effectively across different departments.
