Job summary

Career Horizons is seeking an Accountant in Malaysia (Selangor) to strengthen financial reporting and month-end processes. You will prepare entries, postings, and reconciliations, while supporting audits and reporting under applicable standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting and at least 3 years of relevant experience; proficiency in MS Office and accounting systems is preferred. You will work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification.
• At least 3 years of working experience in financial reporting; audit experience and listed company exposure are advantageous.
• Proficient with MS Office; knowledge of accounting systems will be an added advantage.
• Proactive, independent, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accuracy of financial records by preparing and posting accounting entries, GLs and cost centres in accordance with company procedures.
• Support monthly and yearly closing activities, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations and supporting documents in a timely manner.
• Prepare financial reports, ensuring completeness and compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal requirements.
• Assist in process improvements and system enhancements, providing feedback and supporting implementation efforts to improve efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with team members, ensuring daily tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines, while escalating issues when necessary.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents and internal departments on financial and reporting matters, ensuring proper follow-up and documentation.
• Perform any other duties assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness and reliability of the finance function
• Perform ad-hoc HR tasks as assigned by management.
