FPG Oleochemicals is seeking a Finance Associate – Treasury (Temporary) in Malaysia to support cash management, banking relations, and treasury controls. The role requires a university degree in accounting or business and at least 3 years in treasury or related areas.

Effectively perform the FPG treasury function and ensure strict compliance of procedures and practices in order to ensure legal compliance and meet the finance and accounting standard of FPG, local company legal and statutory requirements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Plan and execute projects under the Treasury function, ensuring timely and effective implementation, including Cash Management, SAP improvements, and Payment Process enhancements.
Prepare and submit all Treasury-related reports accurately and within the required timelines, including Bank Negara ECM reports, monthly reports to P&G Treasury, month-end reports and reconciliations, and hedging reports.
Review FPG’s banking facilities, financing, and investment tools against prevailing market practices and identify opportunities for implementation within FPG to reduce costs and enhance profitability.
Prepare and analyze cash flow forecasts and budgets for interest costs and bank fees.
Review the company’s daily financial position to ensure all funding requirements are adequately met and appropriate funding strategies are implemented.
Execute forward hedging transactions in accordance with the Finance Manual and perform month-end hedging reconciliations with banks.
Prepare and post all bank transactions in SAP, ensuring accurate reconciliation, reporting, and timely clearing in the company’s books.
Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors on Treasury-related matters, where required.
Liaise with internal auditors on CSA requirements relating to the Local Cash Management assessment.
Prepare payments for oil suppliers and manage daily banking activities for priority vendors.
Assist in developing and updating Treasury policies, procedures, and the cash management system.
Manage the company’s petty cash, ensuring all claims are properly approved and supported by relevant documentation. Maintain the petty cash float in accordance with company policy and ensure timely reimbursement.
Coordinate and execute special payment methods, including IDC, BA, and LC transactions.
Manage the company’s bank guarantees (BG) issued to local authorities and major utility suppliers. Execute borrowings and placements with financial institutions in accordance with management approval.
Coordinate dividend payments with local management, prepare the necessary payment documentation, and communicate with JV partners regarding the execution of payments.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Education
University degree in Accounting or Business
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Treasury or other accounting functions.
Experience in Treasury within a manufacturing or banking environment is preferred.
Technical & Professional Knowledge
In-depth knowledge and understanding of:
Accounting functions and principles.
SAP, particularly Cash Management and Banking modules.
Local accounting standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze financial information and make sound decisions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work and communicate effectively with employees at all levels, including senior management.
Good knowledge of local statutory and regulatory requirements relating to Treasury and banking activities.
Proficient in both spoken and written English.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and meeting deadlines.
