Job summary

Swiss Re's SRAL Carrier Management team in Malaysia is seeking a technology-savvy finance professional to support a major transformation project, moving from a legacy sub-ledger to a new system landscape, ensuring data integrity and accurate reporting.

You will reconcile data, assist in testing, document new processes, and coordinate with finance, IT and business stakeholders, while also providing BAU finance operations and regulatory reporting support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, information systems, or related discipline.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, reporting, finance operations, systems implementation, or transformation projects.
• Experience working with financial data, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with finance systems and reporting tools.
• Experience supporting testing, system migrations, or process improvement initiatives is advantageous.

Job description

The SRAL Carrier Management team comprises finance professionals across the region and operates within the broader Finance function globally within the GFO&T division. The team collaborates closely with local, regional, and global stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate, and reliable financial reporting, meeting both regulatory and statutory requirements as well as internal analytical needs.

In addition, the team ensures robust governance and effective management of financial reporting risks, while supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives across the region. As a trusted finance business partner, SRAL Carrier Management team also provides business partnering support to enable informed decision-making and sustainable business development.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technology-savvy professional to support a key finance transformation initiative involving the decommissioning of an existing sub-ledger and transition to a new system landscape. The role offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, systems, data, and process transformation.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity throughout the transition, supporting report redevelopment and testing activities, documenting new operating processes, and coordinating stakeholders across multiple functions to ensure successful project delivery. In addition, the candidate will provide Business-as-Usual (BAU) support, including quarterly close, reporting, audit activities, and other finance operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sub-ledger Decommissioning and Transformation Support

• Perform reconciliations between legacy and target systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial and operational data.
• Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences by working closely with finance, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Assist in validating balances, transactions, reports, and key data sets throughout the migration process.

2. Reporting and System Implementation

• Support the redesign and rebuilding of existing reports in the new system environment.
• Work with users to understand reporting requirements and validate that business needs are met in the target solution.
• Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT), system testing, and data validation activities.
• Track testing outcomes, document issues, and coordinate resolution with relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement opportunities and process automation initiatives where applicable.

3. Process Documentation and Governance

• Develop documentation for newly established processes and controls.
• Update existing process documentation, operating procedures, and training materials to reflect changes arising from the transformation programme.
• Ensure appropriate governance, controls, and audit trail requirements are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support preparation of project status updates, meeting materials, and decision logs.

4. Business-as-Usual (BAU) Support

• Provide support for finance operations, reporting, reconciliations, and analysis activities.
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects, regulatory reporting, audit requests, and operational initiatives as required.
• Contribute to process improvement efforts supporting overall finance efficiency and effectiveness.

About You
