Finance Assistant Manager (Fintech Industry) is a pivotal role supporting the Head of Finance, Risk and Credit in overseeing accounting, treasury and governance at a growing fintech company in Malaysia. The successful candidate will lead the finance team, ensure timely financial reporting, and partner with auditors on annual audits and tax matters.
Candidates should have a degree in accounting with MIA membership, and professional qualifications are encouraged.

In this position, you will assist the Head of Finance, Risk and Credit in leading the finance functions of the company. You are expected to provide leadership and guidance to the finance team in all matters relating to finance, accounting, management reporting, credit and treasury management.
Key responsibilities
Manage and lead the team to ensure effective and efficient overall accounting, finance, management reporting, credit and treasury management functions of the Company
Ensure accurate and timely closure and submission of monthly/quarterly/annual management accounts, regulatory and statutory compliance reports as well as preparation of annual financial statements, in accordance with MFRS
Support monthly performance review, cash flows planning, annual company and departmental forecast and budget, financial reports and detail analysis for Management/Board reporting
Review and check daily settlement reports with merchant and brand owners (Visa and Mastercard)
Participate in new service/product discussion to provide input on business, financial risk and related accounting control procedures
Work closely with business and operation teams to optimize cost structure
Design and review financial models to evaluate strategic business options and opportunities
Work closely with Auditors and Tax agent on annual audit and corporate tax returns
Assist with implementing and maintaining internal controls and risk management procedures
About you
Degree or equivalent in accounting, member of MIA
Finalist of professional qualification, such as MICPA, CIMA and ACCA is encouraged to apply
Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience with at least one (1) year in supervisory role
Posses prior experience in the payment industry
Good understanding of MFRS, IFRS and tax rules in Malaysia
Familiar with accounting software such as UBS
Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
