Job summary

AMD in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Section Manager / Staff Finance Analyst to partner with Business Unit leadership and manage accounting activities for the unit, including program and product accounting, contract review, audits, SOX, close, and reporting. Qualifications

• General finance/accounting processes or finance compliance/auditing experience is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
• Adaptable and resilient, able to work effectively under pressure and manage change in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using business intelligence tools, data analytics software, and ERP systems is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Influence and provide guidance on the accounting treatment of business unit contracts/transactions to ensure the appropriate application.
• Support month-end close activities, including review of journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, SOX requirements, applicable regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare, analyze, and deliver financial reporting packages for corporate and executive leadership, including management reporting, ad hoc analysis, and actionable business insights.
• Partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business priorities, provide strategic financial guidance, and support informed decision-making.
• Identify, challenge, and enhance existing processes, controls, and ways of working to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness to evolving business needs.
• Drive process automation and digital transformation initiatives by leveraging technology, data analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and business insights.
