Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Section Manager / Staff Finance Analyst to partner with business unit leadership and manage all accounting activities, including program and product accounting, contract review, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• General finance/accounting processes or finance compliance/auditing experience is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into insights.
• Adaptable and resilient, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with BI tools, data analytics software and ERP systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Influence and guide accounting treatment of contracts/transactions for the business unit.
• Support month-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX and company policies.
• Prepare and deliver financial reporting packages for leadership and ad hoc analyses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align with business priorities.
• Identify process improvements and drive automation and digital transformation.
