Job summary

MIN SOON TRANSPORT COMPANY SDN BHD is expanding its finance leadership with a Finance and Accounts Manager in Sarawak to oversee all accounting functions and reporting.

You will drive budgeting, cash flow planning, tax compliance, and internal controls while partnering with management on strategic commercial decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5-8 years' experience, including at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Strong working knowledge of Malaysian financial reporting standards and tax framework.
• Experience in SME, logistics, transport, trading, or asset-heavy industries is advantageous.
• Commercially minded with the ability to engage management and influence decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions.
• Ensure timely preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and board-level reporting in compliance with MFRS.
• Drive cash flow management, budgeting, and financial planning.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and governance processes.
• Oversee tax compliance (corporate tax, SST) and manage relationships with tax agents and auditors.
• Partner with management to provide commercial insights, cost control, and margin analysis.
• Monitor and manage working capital, credit control, and supplier payment cycles.
• Support contract review and assess financial and risk implications of commercial arrangements.
• Manage, coach and mentor the finance team.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, investigate and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Lead external audit engagements, ensuring timely preparation and submission of audit schedules and statutory deliverables.
