Job summary

Alfa Laval is hiring a Field Service Engineer to perform service, installation, testing, repair and maintenance of High-Speed Separators, Decanters and Plate Heat Exchangers at customer sites across Malaysia. Strong troubleshooting, technical aptitude and customer-facing communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven field service experience on industrial equipment.
• Strong technical expertise and hands-on ability.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Great communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 80 days per year.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain and minor repair on standard products at customer sites.
• Perform plant audits, inspections and preventive maintenance for key customers.
• Investigate and resolve technical/process problems on site.
• Prepare service jobs for timely execution.
• Provide technical support via phone/email and may work weekends.
• Write service and technical reports on site and obtain customer sign-off.
• Capture installed base and communicate sales opportunities to sales organization.
• Proactively recommend spares to customers.
• Execute service in Service Centres when required.
• Report unsafe practices and incidents for continuous improvement.

About The Job

Execute selected service of standard products such as High-Speed Separator, Decanter and Plate Heat Exchanger. This includes service, installation, testing, repairing, and maintaining as well as condition monitoring and audits on products, modules and systems at customer site.

Job Description

• Responsible for executing trouble shooting, maintenance and minor repair on standard products at customer site.
• To perform plant audit, inspection and preventive maintenance for main key customer.
• Investigate and resolve technical and process problems on standard products at customer site (mechanical, electrical and system).
• Preparation of the service job to execute/resolve at the shortest possible time.
• Technical support to customer (phone, e-mail and etc) and able to work during weekends and public holiday if required.
• Follow up on actions and promises made to customers.
• Write service and technical report on site and get it signed by customer.
• Implementation of new method or system from Alfa Laval Service Bulletin.
• Capture installed base on site and communicate sales opportunities to sales organization.
• Proactive recommendation to customers for purchase of spares.
• Execute service in our Service Centres if required.
• Report unsafe practice, incidents and work for continuous improvement.

What You Know

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role.
• Strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in the relevant field.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments, multitask, and manage time effectively.
• Proficient in documentation and reporting.
• Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry advancements.
• Ability to travel (minimum 80 days/year).
