Job summary

Test Research Innovation Malaysia Sdn Bhd seeks a visionary Lead for the Field Application Engineering team to drive performance, guide engineers, and coordinate with HQ/R&D.

You will manage tasks, collaborate with global teams, travel as needed, and deliver technical solutions while ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in field application engineering, technical support, product engineering, or a similar role.
• Prior leadership or people management experience is highly preferred.
• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of engineering products, applications, and technical troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and international teams.
• Experience working with HQ, R&D, engineering, or cross-functional teams is an advantage.
• Good project management and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel when required to support customers and field activities.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken, for communication with HQ and R&D teams.
• Having depth extended knowledge in SPI, AOI and AXI.
• Proficiency in Mandarin/Chinese is preferred, as the role requires communication with Chinese-speaking customers or HQ/R&D teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, product evaluations, and application support when required.
• Identify opportunities for product and application improvements based on market and customer feedback.
• Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and performance reports to management and HQ.
• Ensure the team follows company procedures, technical standards, and quality requirements.
• Develop the technical capabilities and professional skills of Field Application Engineers through coaching and training.
