Job summary

SBH Perak Agro Aquaculture Sdn Bhd is seeking a Farm Manager (Aquaculture/Shrimp Farming) to oversee daily shrimp farm operations, water quality, biosecurity, feed optimization, workforce management, and regulatory compliance at our Perak facilities. • Proven ability to lead multilingual farm teams in remote environments.
• Proficient in farm management software, data analysis, budgeting, and performance reporting.
• Willingness to work on-site at farm locations with flexible hours based on operations.

Responsibilities

Farm Manager (Aquaculture/Shrimp Farming)

The Farm Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily shrimp farm operations, water quality management, biosecurity protocols, feed optimization, workforce management, and regulatory compliance. The primary objective of this role is to drive operational excellence, optimize Feed Conversion Ratios (FCR), maintain optimal shrimp health, and maximize yield and cost-efficiency while ensuring full compliance with aquaculture standards.

Key responsibilities

Oversee daily operations across grow-out ponds, nursery systems, and critical support infrastructure.

Plan, schedule, and supervise daily feeding programs, water sampling, harvesting operations, and pond maintenance schedules.

Determine and manage optimal stocking densities and execute efficient crop rotation strategies to optimize production cycles.

Continuously monitor and adjust essential water parameters including Dissolved Oxygen (DO), pH, salinity, ammonia, nitrite, and alkalinity.

Implement and enforce robust aeration schedules, filtration systems, and sludge management protocols.

Enforce strict farm biosecurity protocols to eliminate disease transmission risks and prevent health outbreaks.

Regularly assess shrimp health and behavior, diagnose early symptoms of stress or disease, and coordinate timely treatment plans.

Develop and manage feed schedules, selecting appropriate feed types and quantities customized to specific growth stages.

Train, direct, and supervise farm workers on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and operational protocols.

Maintain comprehensive and accurate logs of stocking numbers, daily mortality, growth rates, biomass, and harvest volumes.

About you

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Aquaculture, Marine Science, Fisheries, Biological Science, or related field.

Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in shrimp farm management (e.g., Litopenaeus vannamei / Penaeus monodon).

In-depth understanding of water chemistry, shrimp pathology, biosecurity protocols, and FCR optimization.

Proven ability to lead and motivate multilingual farm operational teams in a remote farm environment.

Proficient in farm management software, data analysis, budgeting, and performance reporting.

Willingness to work on-site at farm locations with flexible working hours based on operational/harvest needs.
