Job summary

NXP Semiconductors Malaysia is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of advanced semiconductor devices. You will investigate root causes of failures and contribute to product improvements and customer satisfaction.

You will perform detailed electrical FA using SEM/EDX, OBIRCH, PEM and other tools, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and document findings with clear recommendations. Fresh graduates with strong fundamentals are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical/electronic engineering or physics or related field.
• 2+ years in semiconductor failure analysis in high-volume or R&D.
• Strong understanding of device physics, processing and packaging.
• Hands-on FA tools: SEM/EDX, PEM, LIT, OBIRCH, LVP/EOP, etc.
• Electrical debug and characterization: curve tracing, oscilloscopes, logic analysis.
• Clear written and verbal communication; teamwork in fast-paced settings.
• Fresh graduates with strong fundamentals welcome.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed electrical failure analysis on advanced semiconductor devices.
• Use SEM/EDX, OBIRCH, emission microscopy and fault-isolation tools.
• Develop new failure analysis methodologies for emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with design, product, test and reliability teams for reports and corrective actions.
• Document results with observations, conclusions, and recommended solutions.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to improve quality and processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; stay updated on FA tech.
