Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a factory layout design engineer to design and optimize facility layouts, improve material flow, and lead layout projects from concept to execution. You will collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure safe, efficient layouts that meet budget and schedule targets.

The role requires a strong background in industrial or manufacturing engineering, 3+ years in layout design, and proficiency with AutoCAD/SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience with a minimum of 3 years in factory layout design, industrial engineering, or production planning.
• Deep understanding of lean manufacturing techniques, Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, and capacity modeling.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other facility layout software.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement facility layouts to improve production processes and material flow.
• Conduct time and motion studies, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis to reduce waste, downtime, and bottlenecks.
• Plan for the installation, layout, and commissioning of new machinery to fit into the overall production system.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, maintenance, and safety teams to align layout changes with production goals and safety standards.
• Lead layout improvement projects from concept to execution, ensuring they are completed within budget and schedule.
• Create detailed CAD drawings, floor plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for layout changes.
• Ensure all layout designs comply with safety regulations (e.g., OSH) and improve ergonomic conditions for operators.
