Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital in Batu Pahat, Malaysia seeks a Diploma holder in Electrical or M&E to join the Facilities team. You will perform trouble shooting and repair of Electrical Systems and ELV systems, monitor contractor activities, and support efficient operations across hospital buildings and equipment.

Responsibilities include executing planned maintenance, safety and compliance checks, and coordinating with the Facilities Manager on major issues.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma in Electrical or M&E is required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Aptitude for teamwork and good communication is essential.
• Capable of handling stress and working efficiently under instruction.

Responsibilities

• Trouble shoot and repair of Electrical Systems and ELV systems.
• Monitor M&E contractor activities during new projects and renovations.
• Check and replace light fittings and detectors around the hospital as needed.
• Support efficient operations of Building, Facility and Equipment via Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM).
• Ensure predictive and corrective maintenance practices and timely response to requests and complaints.
• Maintain continuous uptime of Building, Facility System and Equipment.
• Liaise with Facilities Manager for major decisions related to building and facilities.
• Perform other duties as required by management.

Job description

1) JOB DESCRIPTION

Operations

• To perform trouble shooting and repair of Electrical Systems and ELV systems.

• To monitor the M&E contractor’s during new project and existing renovation works.

• Check all lightings in and around the hospital building on a regular basis, replaced detective tube, bulbs and fixtures as required.

• Assist to ensure the most efficient and economical operations of Building, Facility and Equipment, hospital assets and equipment by ensuring effective implementation of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) programs as per industrial requirements.

• Ensure implementation and success of predictive and corrective maintenance practices leading to the best practices, attend to complaints and work requests within stipulated time.

• Ensure continuous Uptime - Building, Facility System and Equipment.

• Establish performance monitoring system for in-house/outsourced maintenance activities in order to ensure service delivery meets the expectations of the management.

• To liaise with Facilities Manager for any major decision can be made on any issued related to the building and facilities.

• To perform any other duties as and when required by the management.

Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

• Assist, develop, propose, implement & monitor group strategies, policies and procedures - related to Building, Facility and Equipment Management and comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) Act & Regulation.

Technical Audits

• Carry out technical audits to identify gaps in technical deliverables and propose solutions to minimize the gaps - Operational and Technical.

• Test contingency plan for Building, Facility & Equipment operation that should include internal and external parties.

Safety & Security

• Ensure that all relevant law, statutory requirement and regulations, clinical requirement and patient comfort related to Engineering services and retrofit/refurbishment projects.

• Assist in implementation of identified accreditation requirements such as IMS, MSQH, JCI and Quality Assurance, Health, Safety & Environment to ensure the required quality standards are met.

• Ensure patient safety and training of staff in Safety aspects of Building, Facility & Equipment systems and regulatory/OSHA requirements.

• Ensure a safe working environment is established and safety awareness is highly evident amongst the employees.

• Ensure compliance to patient safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for patient safety (2008).

• Ensure all policies and procedures of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001 and Integrated Management System (IMS) are adhere to the records maintained if and when these programs are implemented.

Energy Management

• Advise, Coordinate, Supervise, Implement and keep abreast of Energy management practices.

• Propose the organization in technology developments, documentation and strategies.

• Propose and implement well proven strategies to reduce operating costs and increase productivity.

Special Project

• Actively involve, participate and coordinate relevant Hospital Building, Facility & Equipment (new upgrade, expansion, retrofit, replacement) from concept development, scope, budget resource and proposal, planning, technical specifications and regulation.

• Participate actively in any other new service that is introduce by the services.

• Ensure to Participate in all 5S activities.
