Job summary

Risewave Consulting, Inc. in Malaysia is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator to manage and monitor industrial wastewater treatment systems in a manufacturing setting. You will operate equipment, adjust process parameters, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

The role requires at least 3 years in wastewater treatment, knowledge of electroplating wastewater, and willingness to work overtime and standby as needed. Strong maintenance and data logging skills are valued.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in wastewater treatment within the manufacturing industry.
• Familiar with industrial wastewater and electroplating wastewater treatment processes.
• Ability to independently operate, maintain, and adjust treatment processes.
• Wastewater treatment facility operator certificate or equivalent certification preferred.
• Willing to work overtime and standby when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Operate daily wastewater treatment and related factory utility facilities (HVAC, pumps, scrubbers) and manage pretreatment for electroplating wastewater.
• Monitor wastewater treatment equipment and key water quality parameters; adjust processes to maintain stable performance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and discharge standards; maintain logs and reports for authorities.
• Coordinate routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
• Respond promptly to water quality issues and equipment failures; coordinate with departments to resolve issues.

Job description

• Responsible for the daily operation, inspection, and management of factory utility facilities, including hvac system, air compressors, scrubber towers, and other supporting equipment, as well as the wastewater treatment plant, including the pretreatment system for electroplating wastewater. Ensure stable and reliable equipment operation.
• Monitor the operating status of wastewater treatment equipment and key water quality parameters, including pH, COD, and suspended solids. Adjust and optimize treatment processes according to influent conditions to maintain stable and effective wastewater treatment performance.
• Ensure all operations comply strictly with applicable environmental regulations and discharge standards. Maintain accurate operational logs and data records, submit required reports on time, and support inspections by environmental authorities.
• Coordinate routine maintenance and periodic servicing of wastewater treatment equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures promptely to minimize downtime and ensure continuous system operation.
• Respond effectively to water quality abnormalities, equipment breakdowns, and other emergencies. Coordinate with relevant departments to resolve issues efficiently and perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in wastewater treatment within the manufacturing industry. Familiar with industrial wastewater and electroplating wastewater treatment processes, with the ability to independently perform equipment operation, maintenance, and process parameter adjustments.
• Good knowledge of environmental protection regulations, wastewater discharge requirements, and relevant standards. Candidates holding a Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Certificate or equivalent certification will be preferred.
• Willing to work overtime when necessary and undertake temporary on-call or standby duties.
