Job summary

New World Depot in Ipoh is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle warehouse equipment maintenance, building and facility upkeep, and preventive maintenance. You will perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety standards across electrical, plumbing, lighting and HVAC systems.

The role emphasizes timely repairs, accurate reporting, and collaboration with the warehouse team to minimize downtime and support smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection and maintenance of warehouse equipment (trolleys, racks, pallet jacks, conveyors, ladders, etc.)
• Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical issues
• Ensure all tools and equipment are safe and functional
• Maintain lighting system (change bulbs, wiring check)
• Repair basic electrical issues, repair damaged / defected product
• Fix plumbing issues (leakage, pipe, toilet, sink)
• Maintain doors, shutters, locks, and storage racks
• Monitor air ventilation and basic aircond servicing
• Conduct scheduled maintenance checklist weekly/monthly
• Record maintenance work and report issues to management
• Prevent breakdown before it affects operations
• Respond quickly to urgent repair issues
• Support warehouse team during equipment breakdown
• Ensure minimal downtime for operation
• Ensure workplace safety standards are followed
• Check electrical points and wiring safety
• Assist in fire safety checks (extinguishers, alarm system)
