Job summary

Cofreth (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician focused on M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and plumbing. The role requires a certificate or diploma in A/C, mechanical or electrical engineering and at least two years' relevant experience in building maintenance, preferably in high-rise or malls.

• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in building maintenance, preferably in high-rise buildings or shopping malls.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical or mechanical systems
• Strong customer service orientation with good interpersonal skills for internal and external interactions.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair works for Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems within buildings, including HVAC, electrical systems, fire protection systems, plumbing, and minor civil works.
• Assist in the installation, modification, and upgrading of M&E systems across buildings, plants, premises, and properties.
• Diagnose technical issues, evaluate system performance, and recommend improvements to enhance maintenance efficiency and cost savings.
• Perform all tasks in accordance with SOPs and record daily activities in the Facilities Management System.
• Monitor and supervise subcontractors’ work to ensure contractual compliance and quality standards.
• Demonstrate competent knowledge in the proper use, handling, and maintenance of tools and equipment related to facilities and grounds maintenance.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, system breakdowns, and customer complaints.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Inspect new installations to ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Operate and maintain systems in accordance with safety requirements and safe work practices.
• Perform welding and minor carpentry works when required.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and company policies related to building operations.
• Any other duties as assigned by the superior from time to time.

Job description
