Job summary

VAT Vakuumventile AG in Malaysia seeks a facilities engineer to maintain Plant 1A/1B operations within a fast-paced manufacturing setting. VAT is a leading international developer and supplier of high-performance vacuum valves with production centers in Malaysia and worldwide.

You will oversee preventive maintenance, drive improvements, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with stakeholders to meet KPI and budget targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical and/or electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in a related field.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure facilities systems operate with minimal downtime and support production needs.
• Coordinate and provide support to production/manufacturing needs; manage expenses within budget.
• Develop direct reports through hands-on training; perform internal/external audits and risk assessments.
• Ensure preventive/predictive maintenance, adherence to SOP/WI and regulatory requirements; define scope of work for upgrades.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure upgrades/retrofits comply with VAT safety guidelines; support waste management and IETS.
• Support RO/DI water treatment and expansion projects; enforce 6S culture and maintain high team engagement.
• Lead energy-saving/conservation projects and ensure timely delivery within budget.
