Job summary

Ferrotec Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee design professionals, contractors, and maintenance teams across projects in Penang, Kedah and beyond.

You will develop management plans, coordinate procurement and contracts, ensure schedule adherence, budget control and compliance with laws, regulations and safety standards. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate activities of design professionals, contractors and maintenance contractors to ensure timely, cost-effective, quality projects.
• Develop project management plans including time schedules and procedures.
• Assist in procurement and management of design and maintenance services; participate in bidding and contract awards.
• Monitor progress and resolve schedule and budget issues.
• Ensure compliance with laws, rules and regulations during projects.
• Obtain and document quotes/bids; evaluate proposals for specification compliance.
• Coordinate and liaise between organizations and suppliers.
• Plan, organize and prioritize time and workload to meet deadlines.
• Develop safety/service plans to mitigate risk.
• Oversee development and review of plans and criteria for activities.

Job description

Manages and coordinates the activities of design professionals, construction contractors and maintenance contractors to insure that facilities and/or facilities projects are completed within time, cost, and quality constraints; develops project management plans including time schedules and procedures; assists in the procurement and management of design and maintenance services, assists in the bidding process and participates in the review, recommendation and awarding of facilities related contracts; monitors the progress and performance of projects and resolves schedule and budget issues. Is knowledgeable of and insures that all laws, rules and regulations are being complied with during projects.

Develops, evaluates or reviews plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities; assesses feasibility of proposals.

Participates in the planning, designing, construction and maintenance of facilities.

Obtains and documents quotes/bids. Evaluates proposals for specification compliance and makes recommendation of contract awards.

Approves, signs and/or implements applicable documents, actions, processes, programs, etc.

Reviews and/or inspects work for quality, accuracy, and completeness.

Coordinates and/or acts as a liaison between organizations, suppliers, etc.

Work with or contribute to a work group or team to complete assigned task(s);

Plan, organize and prioritize time and workload in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines;

Insures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc.

Develops appropriate safety and/or service plans to alleviate risk, provide protection, etc.
