Job summary

Frencken Group Malaysia is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related building systems. You will diagnose faults, implement preventive schedules, and supervise contracted workers while keeping detailed maintenance records.

Ideal candidates have a Diploma/Certificate in Electrical/Mechanical fields with 2+ years of hands-on experience, and are skilled with hand and power tools, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical field is required.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in facilities maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of building systems.
• Skilled in painting, carpentry, plumbing repairs and electrical work.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other facility systems.
• Diagnose and resolve faults, leaks or malfunctions in facility equipment.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment life.
• Handle minor repairs of building structure: doors, windows, flooring, walls.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and order replacements as needed.
• Respond promptly to facility emergencies such as outages or leaks.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Provide technical support and supervise contractors on maintenance projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other facility equipment to ensure their proper functioning.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to facility equipment and systems, including identifying and repairing faults, leaks, or malfunctions.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of equipment and minimize unexpected breakdowns.
• Handle minor repairs and maintenance of the building's structure, including doors, windows, flooring, and walls.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for facility maintenance and order replacements as necessary.
• Respond to facility emergencies promptly and effectively, such as power outages, water leaks, or heating/cooling system failures.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and repairs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other facility staff and supervise contractors working on maintenance/facility projects.

Job Requirements

• Possesses Certificate/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical field or any equivalent vocational or technical institutions.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in facilities maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical system.
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic and repair equipment.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and troubleshooting of building systems and equipment.
• Skilled in tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing repairs, and electrical work.
• A highly motivated individual who is willing to take initiatives and high concern on safety.
• Effective organizational skills to manage tasks, prioritize work orders, and meet maintenance schedules.
