Job summary

Intel Corporation in Kulim, Malaysia seeks a Facilities Life Safety Systems Engineer to ensure reliability and safety of life safety systems across Intel facilities. You will oversee fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression systems, perform design reviews for upgrades, and address system performance to meet regulatory standards.

You will collaborate with AHJs and manufacturers, maintaining design standards and providing engineering support for system designs and project submittals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and 2 years of hands-on life safety experience.
• Knowledge of fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression system design and maintenance.
• Familiarity with life safety regulatory codes and standards.
• Proficiency with engineering tools and software relevant to system design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee life safety systems, including fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression, and ancillary systems, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with applicable regulations and codes.
• Advocate for fire alarm system upgrades or replacements, conducting design reviews and recommending improvements as necessary.
• Provide professional engineering support for water and chemical suppression system designs, project submittals, and request information documents.
• Address poorly performing life safety systems or modify due to occupancy or building changes.
• Maintain design standards and specifications regarding life safety systems, collaborating with manufacturers for system implementation and integration.
• Work closely with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and standards.
