Job summary

Tyson Foods in Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Facility Engineer to oversee the safe, efficient operation of the plant’s utility and refrigeration systems, with emphasis on ammonia and freon-based setups. The role involves reliability improvement, safety compliance, and energy optimisation across boiler, steam, condensate, compressed air, and water systems.

You will lead a technical team, coordinate with contractors, and ensure documentation such as SOPs, P&IDs, and maintenance records are kept

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical or related).
3–5 years in industrial refrigeration systems, preferably in manufacturing or process industries.
Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is advantageous.
1–2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Hands-on experience with Process Safety Management or compliance activities is a plus.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operation and maintenance of ammonia and freon-based refrigeration systems.
Monitor system performance and coordinate corrective actions for abnormal conditions.
Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance plans are carried out.
Support boiler, steam, condensate, compressed air, and water utility systems.
Lead troubleshooting and reliability improvement initiatives for utility systems.
Supervise Facilities team and contractors, including boilerman and technicians.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for maintenance, inspections, and improvements.
Support Process Safety Management activities and incident investigations.
