Job summary

Dexcom Malaysia is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support Penang facilities, ensuring reliable operation and maintenance of utilities, HVAC, water, and safety systems. You will lead preventive maintenance, analyze BMS data, manage CMMS records, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to optimize performance.

Responsibilities include supervising shutdowns, CQV activities during construction, GMP and EHS compliance, and reporting KPIs.

Qualifications

• Experience in liaison with local authorities and regulatory bodies for utilities equipment compliance.
• Ownership of HVAC Wet & Dry systems and related mechanical systems.
• Broad engineering skills across utility, automation, instrumentation, project management, operations and maintenance.
• Understanding of GMP & EHS requirements and external/internal audits.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation and maintenance of utilities equipment and building systems (AC, water, fire protection, gas systems).
• Trend and analyze BMS data to identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency of critical equipment.
• Plan and supervise preventive and predictive maintenance; perform troubleshooting and implement corrective actions.
• Support factory construction activities, CQV, and commissioning phases; coordinate progress and issues.
• Manage contractors and ensure compliance with Safety Procedures; coordinate major activities like annual shutdowns and overhauls.
• Assist Senior Facility Manager with day-to-day oversight of building programs; work with building management and control systems.
• Maintain PM reports and KPI data; build partnerships with vendors and service providers for cost-effective solutions.
• Conduct operational reviews of mechanical/building systems and research new technologies to improve efficiency.
• Assist in space planning (moves/adds/changes) and ensure regulatory and safety compliance.

This position will play a key role to support the Penang Facilities sites, be an active team member supporting the Facilities department programs and procedures that promote a well-managed and well-maintained site. You will primarily provide all aspects of facility engineering management problem solving. Subject areas include system operation condition, preventive maintenance, supporting cost avoidance initiatives and coordination of budgeting, maintaining records, and providing general support services for the operation. The position will also participate in the culture of employee health & safety and good corporate stewardship.

Where you come in:

You responsible for daily/routine operation and maintenance activities of various utilities equipment/systems, Compressed Dried Air, Cooling Tower, Chiller, Heat Recovery Hot Water System, Plant Wide Air Conditioning System, Cooling/Chilled Water System, City Water Supply System, Fire Protection System, Gasses) including upgrading, improvement and other related facility systems.

You identify the parameters to be trend in the BMS data and focusing on data analysis to identify opportunities to improve the reliability/efficiency of the Critical equipment or processes.

You plan and supervise effective and efficient preventive and predictive maintenance program, conduct trouble shooting and implementing preventive, corrective and mitigation actions/measures.

You provide technical support during the factory building construction phase, close coordination on progress, reporting and addressing any issues that arise.

You support any activities related to factory commissioning, qualification & validation program (CQV).

You manage contractors and ensure they are complying with Safety Procedures.

You support and coordinate in Major activities like Annual Shutdown, Overhaul etc.

You assist the Senior Facility Manager in the day-to-day oversite of the MA PM building programs. Focus on making building systems safer, more efficient, more reliable, and easier to service and maintain.

You work with building management and control.

You manage preventive maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities programs using CMMS software.

You maintain monthly PM reports, KPI information of collection of data analytics.

You build partnerships with third-party vendors, services providers, and contactors, while ensuring most cost-effective methods are being used.

You research and implement new technology to improve operational efficiency.

You support department vendor management, quotes, PO process, invoices and payments tracking.

You support the department in space planning efforts including moves, adds, and changes.

You conduct operational reviews of a facilities mechanical or other building systems.

You investigate unique problems related to buildings in the area of energy, mechanical systems or other building infrastructure systems, suggest and implement solutions.

What makes you successful:

You have experience in liaison with local authorities’, government regulatory bodies to achieve utilities equipment compliance and utility services provider.

You have industry experience in system ownership for HVAC Wet and Dry systems.

You have broad engineering skills and experience in utility, automation, instrumentation and project management, operations, and maintenance of HVAC Wet & Dry and mechanical system.

You have understanding and experience of GMP & EHS requirements and external/internal audits

You can articulate and explain technical concepts to non-technical trained stakeholder.

You have good engineering problem solving skills, workload resource planning and prioritization skills.

You have knowledge on Lean Sigma tools (5S /Pareto /5 why /DMAIC / RCA /Fish bone analysis) will be added advantage

You have knowledge on ISO stds for medical devices and environmental acts

You have proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

You are required to report during emergency events.

You are strong team player and ability to build positive collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and plant staff.
