Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a qualified Facilities Engineer to operate, monitor, and maintain semiconductor facility systems. You will support HVAC, utilities, and process cooling, coordinate maintenance, and perform root cause analyses to minimize downtime.

The role requires strong analytical skills, English communication, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline related to facilities.
• 2–5 years in facility/utility engineering or semiconductor-related environments.
• Hands-on experience with facility systems and maintenance.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork across cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot facility systems and equipment.
• Support daily engineering activities for HVAC, utilities, and related systems.
• Monitor equipment performance and take corrective actions.
• Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure reliability.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis for recurring problems.
• Monitor facility systems via BMS/EMS, SCADA, PLC where applicable.
• Review data to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Support capacity planning, upgrades, installation, and commissioning projects.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, EHS, and vendors.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and engineering standards compliance.

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot facility systems and equipment supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations.
• Support daily engineering activities for assigned facility systems, including HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, process cooling water, exhaust systems, electrical distribution, water/wastewater, and other critical utilities.
• Monitor equipment performance, alarms, operating parameters, and abnormal conditions, and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Coordinate and support preventive and predictive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot facility equipment issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and abnormal conditions.
• Monitor facility systems through BMS/EMS, SCADA, PLC, or other facility monitoring systems where applicable.
• Review equipment trends, operating data, and utility consumption to identify potential issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Support facility capacity planning, equipment upgrades, installation, commissioning, and engineering improvement projects.
• Work closely with Production, Equipment Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, contractors, and other cross-functional teams to resolve facility-related issues.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and project activities.
• Ensure all facility engineering and maintenance activities comply with site safety requirements, environmental regulations, engineering standards, and company procedures.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, maintenance records, work instructions, equipment specifications, and technical reports.
• Participate in emergency response, troubleshooting, and recovery activities involving critical facility systems.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, energy efficiency, cost reduction, and facility capacity optimization.
• Participate in on-call, standby, or shift support when required to support manufacturing operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within a semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or other high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience in facility/utility systems, equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, or engineering projects.
• Good understanding of facility systems, engineering principles, and maintenance practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to perform root cause analysis.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Able to work in a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment and respond to urgent operational issues when required.
