Job summary

Alfa Laval Malaysia seeks an experienced Export Control and Trade Compliance professional to join our team in Shah Alam. You will lead screening of entities, customers, and contracts to protect Alfa Laval’s interests in global shipments and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include using screening tools (MIRS, World Check One), updating risk lists, training Sales teams, and advising on LC/BG and regulatory documentation for complex shipments across ASEAN.

Qualifications

• Degree or master's in international business or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in export control and trade compliance roles.
• Ability to handle pressure and act independently.
• High risk awareness and judgement.
• Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and influence without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Screen and archive export control screening of entities before or during dealings.
• Screen customers before registration in CRM during quotes or orders.
• Use MIRS and World Check One to screen; escalate risks to relevant Alfa Laval teams.
• Maintain updated lists of designated countries and classifications for dual-use items.
• Fetch Risk/Compliance Bureau reports for suspected entities.
• Train Sales and related teams on export control procedures.
• Release export control clearances in OneCRM and ERP for daily operations.
• Advise on LC and BG.
• Optimize trade benefit schemes and duties/tax savings; knowledge of undertakings.
• Provide regulatory documentation advisory for complex shipments.
• Deep knowledge of ASEAN customs procedures and Incoterms usage.
