Job summary

Hartalega in Petaling Jaya seeks an ESG Specialist to monitor and enhance the company's environmental, social and governance performance. You will track sustainability indicators and coordinate data collection across departments for senior management insights.

The role requires a proactive mindset, strong data analysis, and the ability to translate complex sustainability data into clear reports and recommendations for continuous improvement across operations and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Development or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with exposure of working on sustainability.
• Fresh graduate will be considered.
• Understanding and knowledge in sustainability framework and practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ESG rating by measuring sustainability efforts and indicators (energy usage, resource use, waste, recycling).
• Collaborate with management to develop goals, metrics and processes for measuring safety, health, environmental and governance performance.
• Collect and analyse company-wide data on sustainability initiatives; provide senior management with analysis and recommendations on programs and reporting.
• Assist in preparation of sustainability reports, benchmarking and identifying improvements.
• Assist in development of reports or presentations to communicate and raise awareness on sustainability initiatives.
• Assist in communicating and promoting sustainability initiatives; participate in developing a sustainability communication strategy.
• Performs ad hoc work and investigations on areas of concerns as required.

Job description

• Monitor and work on ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) rating by ascertaining and measuring sustainability efforts and monitor sustainability indicators, such as energy usage, natural resource usage, waste generation, recycling, etc.
• Assist to build and maintain comprehensive knowledge of sustainability initiatives and programs.
• Identify opportunities for cost saving, more sustainable practices and create new sustainability indicators.
• Work closely with management to develop appropriate goals, metrics and process for measuring the Company’s performance with respect to sustainability including safety, health, environmental, social and governance.
• Collect and analyse company-wide data on sustainability initiatives and programs and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to provide senior management with relevant analysis and recommendations on sustainability programs and reporting.
• Assist in preparation of sustainability related reports, benchmarking and identify improvements.
• Assist in development of reports or presentations to communicate and raise awareness on effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.
• Assist in communicating and promoting sustainability initiatives and programs; participate in the development of a sustainability communication strategy.
