Job summary

Maybank is seeking a qualified financial reporting professional in Kuala Lumpur to prepare income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and notes for statutory and management reporting. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams and coordination with external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

The ideal candidate will have ACCA/ICAEW qualification or equivalent, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality results

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to review data at micro level and identify gaps.
• Good writing skills to articulate data for escalation purposes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and notes to the financial statements and disclosures.
• Prepare internal management reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation.
• Address audit findings and implement recommendations.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
• Reconcile schedules from source against EGL and perform intercompany eliminations.
• Assist in automation of reporting processes where possible.
• Prepare slides and presentation materials for management meetings.

Job description

• Income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and notes to the financial statements and disclosures
• Internal Reporting
• Monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial reports for management.
• External auditors
• Coordination with external auditors.
• Providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Addressing audit findings and implementing recommendations
• Consolidating financial statements of various subsidiaries and branches and perform intercompany reconciliations and eliminations;
• Development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
• Analysing financial statements which includes income statement and balance sheet of the Bank and the Group;
• Systems and Process Improvement
• Identifying and implementing improvements in financial reporting systems and processes.
• Automation of reporting processes where possible.
• Compliance with Accounting Standards
• Ensuring financial reporting adheres to relevant accounting standards and principles.
• Staying updated with changes in accounting standards and implementing necessary changes
• Reconciliation between various schedules from source against EGL;
• Report writing skills for reporting to senior management and various committees;
• Preparation of slides and presentation materials for various management meetings;
• Various other ad hoc assignments assigned

Job Requirements:

• Preferably with ACCA/ICAEW qualification or equivalent. Working experience in Financial and Management Reporting is an advantage.
