Job summary

Daikin Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Executive in Procurement to develop strategies and plans for local and overseas projects, manage purchasing and inventory activities, and ensure smooth progression from project initiation to mass production.

You will lead vendor evaluations, risk assessments, and cost-down initiatives while maintaining high 5S, safety and quality standards within the supply chain. The role requires in-depth knowledge of procurement policies, supplier management, and SAP

Qualifications

• Through understanding of procurement and inventory policy and procedure including purchasing, shipping delivery, receiving preparing and issuing.
• Full understanding of the sales and production cycle of the air-conditioning industry and be able to comply with the procurement and inventory activities for best industry practice.
• Overall knowledge on warehouse management particularly on FIFO stock aging, 5S, safety, QMS ISO9001:2015 / EMS ISO14001 and WI.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies and programs to meet company-wide cost saving objectives.
• Ensure adequate communication with suppliers for best price and term negotiation; evaluate existing and new suppliers performance by ranking and selecting based on DAMA's standard and requirement as well as QMS ISO9001:2015 / EMS ISO14000 requirement
• Conduct commercial evaluations of potential and existing sources of supply
• Perform vendor auditing and determine alternative materials and approaches
• Perform commodity hedging if necessary to ensure best and stable pricing for raw materials
• Develop project plans to support the buyers in their projects
• Manage all project schedules and deadlines according to the company procurement processes
• Identify, source, negotiate and implement procurement and procurement key cost saving opportunities resulting in significant saving to the company in multiple categories of spend
• Recruit, train educates and develops his/her team of purchasing and inventory staff

Job description

The Executive, Procurement develops strategy and plans for local and overseas projects, purchasing and inventory activities. The role involves handling and ensuring smooth running of new projects until mass production, managing the execution, analysis and final reporting of results and recommendations for new components or vendors, and developing cost down activities. The Executive ensures a high degree of 5S, safety and security along the purchasing line, performs vendor evaluation and rating, develops the EOL System, and develops vendor risk assessment systems to control supply chain risk.

Key responsibilities

Through understanding of procurement and inventory policy and procedure including purchasing, shipping delivery, receiving preparing and issuing

Overall knowledge on warehouse management particularly on FIFO stock aging, 5S, safety, QMS ISO9001:2015 / EMS ISO14001 and WI

Understanding of DEDM's mission and vision in order to the procurement and inventory strategy are set in compliance with the company's direction

Through understanding and high ability in using MM module

Ability to Communicate in Mandarin (verbal, written) - To communicate with supplier from China.
