Job summary

Monroe Consulting Group is partnering with a consumer-focused organisation to recruit a Chief Operating Officer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role will oversee the company’s operational strategy, drive growth and scalability, and ensure exceptional customer experiences across functions.

The COO will lead multiple functions, translate strategic priorities into actionable plans and KPIs, and collaborate with commercial, product, technology and finance teams to optimise performance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of operations or general management experience, including senior executive roles.
• Experience scaling high-growth consumer tech, e-commerce or marketplaces.
• Proven ability to translate strategy into execution with measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's operational strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
• Lead day-to-day business operations across key functions, ensuring strong execution and accountability.
• Translate strategic priorities into clear operating plans, KPIs and measurable outcomes.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity, cost management and scalable processes.
• Partner closely with Commercial, Product, Technology, Finance, People and other leaders to ensure cross-functional alignment.
• Establish performance management frameworks and ensure teams deliver against business objectives.
• Identify operational risks and opportunities, and implement initiatives to improve performance.
• Lead organisational transformation and process improvement as the business scales.
• Develop strong leadership capabilities, organisational structures and operating rhythms.
• Use data and insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Represent operational priorities at executive and board level where required.
