Job summary

Suntory Beverage & Health Enrichment in Malaysia is hiring a GL & Reporting Executive to ensure accurate financial reporting, support accounting standards compliance, and partner with cross-functional teams. You will manage month-end closing, variance analysis, and reporting processes to support business decisions.

The role reports to the Finance Manager - Reporting and involves collaboration across stakeholders, system enhancements, and continuous improvement within a multinational setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, financial reporting, or a similar finance role.
• Experience with external audits, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Experience managing month-end closing and balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities with timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial schedules.
• Support statutory reporting, tax compliance, and external audits.
• Monitor financial results, identify variances, and propose corrective actions.
• Assist in cash flow reporting, forecasting, and financial planning.

As a GL & Reporting Executive, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting while supporting compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to manage month-end closing, financial analysis, audit activities, and reporting processes that support business decision-making.

What You’ll Do

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial schedules.
• Support statutory reporting, tax compliance, and external audit requirements.
• Monitor and analyze financial results, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Assist in cash flow reporting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process standardization, and finance transformation projects.
• Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and finance-related projects when required.

What You Need to Be Successful

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, financial reporting, or a similar finance role.
• Exposure to external audits, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Experience managing month-end closing and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP experience is an advantage).
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG, consumer goods, manufacturing, or multinational environments.
• Experience supporting finance process improvements, automation, or system implementation projects.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MIA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
