Job summary

Suntory Beverage & Food (Malaysia) is seeking an Assistant Commercial Finance Manager to partner with Sales and Marketing teams to drive performance through planning, forecasting, and analysis. You will manage trade investments and A&P spend, contributing to strategic growth initiatives.

You will support decision making with financial insights, monitoring performance and leading cross‑functional finance processes in a dynamic consumer health environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
• 2–4 years in commercial finance or related roles.
• Strong modelling, Excel, and data interpretation.
• FMCG or consumer healthcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Trade Marketing to evaluate promotional effectiveness and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
• Assist in trade investment analysis and ROI evaluation.
• Support pricing analysis and portfolio optimization in line with regional and global guidelines.
• Track and analyze channel and brand performance against targets, actuals, and forecasts.
• Highlight risks and opportunities in performance trends and support gap‑closing initiatives.
• Assist in development of Annual Operating Plans (AOP), Mid‑Term Plan (MTP), Rolling Forecast, and monthly IBP submissions.
• Prepare timely management information to empower operators in decision making.
• Monitor A&P spending vs budget and accruals; ensure timely recognition.

About your role

As an Assistant Commercial Finance Manager, you will partner closely with Sales and Marketing teams to drive business performance through financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and commercial insights. You will support decision‑making by evaluating business opportunities, monitoring financial performance, managing trade investments and A&P spend, and contributing to strategic initiatives that help deliver sustainable growth.

What You’ll Do

Commercial Finance

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Trade Marketing to evaluate promotional effectiveness and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
• Assist in trade investment analysis and ROI evaluation.
• Support pricing analysis and portfolio optimization in line with regional and global guidelines.

Business Performance Management

• Track and analyze channel and brand performance against targets, actuals, and forecasts.
• Highlight risks and opportunities in performance trends and support gap‑closing initiatives.

Forecasting and Planning

• Assist in the development of Annual Operating Plans (AOP), Mid‑Term Plan (MTP), Rolling Forecast, Mid‑Month Forecast, coordinating inputs from cross‑functional teams.
• Support monthly reporting submissions in the IBP cycle.
• Prepare relevant, timely management information to equip the operators with the information required to make business decisions.

Trade Spend and A&P Management/Month‑end Closing

• Work closely with Marketing and Trade Marketing to monitor A&P spending versus budget, last year, and KPIs.
• Complete accruals for trade investments and A&P. Ensure timely and accurate recognition of accruals.

Ad Hoc Projects and Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Participate in cross‑functional initiatives to improve financial processes and business outcomes.
• Manage ad hoc requests from the Commercial Finance Manager and contribute to team‑wide transformation projects

What You need to be successful

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
• 2–4 years of experience in commercial finance, financial planning & analysis, or a related finance role.
• Strong analytical, financial modelling, and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to interpret financial data and translate insights into business recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
• Experience in FMCG or consumer healthcare industries will be an advantage.
• A self‑starter mindset with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and continuous improvement.
