Job summary

SD Guthrie International Pasir Gudang Refinery Sdn Bhd seeks an Engineer (WWTP Executive) to lead process tuning, troubleshoot plant issues, and drive maintenance and process improvements at the Johor site. You will ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and DOE regulations, coordinate with multiple departments, manage housekeeping, and analyze data for timely feedback to operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional certification in Environmental Management or CePIETSO is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of DOE regulations and Environmental Quality Act is preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, refinery, edible oil, biodiesel, oleochemical, or related industry is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Report to the WWTP HOD at SD Guthrie International Pasir Gudang Refinery Sdn Bhd.
• Assigned Engineer (WWTP Executive) for process tuning, plant troubleshooting, maintenance and improvement.
• Assist HOD with department administration and act on his behalf when absent.
• Improve and maintain WWTP according to ISO 9001 and DOE requirements.
• Coordinate with related departments to understand wastewater-generating processes.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance of WWTP equipment and chemicals.
• Monitor daily analyses by WWTP technicians for accuracy and reliability.
• Compile and analyze data, provide feedback to operations team.
• Prepare and review third-party results for Online Environmental Reports.

Report to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) HOD at SD Guthrie International Pasir Gudang Refinery Sdn Bhd2. Assigned Engineer (WWTP Executive) for the WWTP covering process tuning, plant troubleshooting, plant maintenance and process improvement.3. Assist HOD in the general administration of the department and to act on his/her behalf in his/her absence.4. Improve and maintain the existing WWTP according to ISO 9001 and DOE’s regulatory requirements.5. Coordinate with all related departments in understanding all plant processes that generate wastewater.6. Coordinate and work with other departments in any issues regarding wastewater.7. Ensure good, proper running, and cleanliness (housekeeping) of the WWTP including stock of chemicals and ingredients, consumables, maintenance and calibration of instrument, manpower deployment and shift arrangement and other employee affairs.8. Monitor the daily analysis done by WWTP technicians to ensure its accuracy and reliability.9. Compile and summarize results, conduct analysis of data using available tools and give timely feedback to the operation team.10. Compile, review and analyze third party results for submission of Online Environmental Report for Department of Environment and any other report related to compliance.11. Review and analyze results to ensure smoothness of WWTP operations.12. Implement safe working procedures and ensure its implementation among the personnel in the department.13. Communicate with superiors, subordinates, colleagues from other departments, suppliers, customers, and authorities.14. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or any related discipline.2. Professional certification in Environmental Management or Certified Environmental Professional in Industrial Effluent Treatment (CePIETSO) is an added advantage.3. Familiarity with DOE (Department of Environment) regulations and Environmental Quality Act requirements.4.
