Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an Accountant in Selangor to manage full set of accounts, AR, AP, and compliance processes. The role requires 2-3 years in a similar accounting position and an ability to read, write and speak Mandarin natively; proficiency in MYOB and Excel is essential.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting/Finance, with strong analytical skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Language: Must be able to read, write, and speak in Mandarin natively.
• Experience: 2-3 years in a similar accounting role.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MYOB and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Full Set of Accounts: Prepare and maintain monthly management accounts including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
• Month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare reconciliation of general ledger accounts and bank statements.
• Accounts Receivable: Issue invoices, monitor payments, and apply cash.
• Accounts Payable: Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and reimbursements; ensure timely payments.
• Compliance & Reporting: Assist with statutory audits and tax filings; liaise with auditors and tax agents.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Set of Accounts:

  • Prepare and maintain full set of monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Prepare reconciliation of general ledger accounts and bank statements.

• Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Issue invoices and credit notes to clients accurately.

  • Monitor incoming payments and perform daily cash application.

  • Follow up on overdue accounts and manage the collections process to minimize bad debt.

• Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and petty cash reimbursements.

  • Ensure timely payments to vendors and adherence to payment terms.

  • Handle supplier reconciliation and resolve any billing discrepancies.

• Compliance & Reporting:

  • Assist with statutory audit, tax filing (GST/SST), and other regulatory submissions.

  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and bankers as required.

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
